Call for paper

The Sopianae Association in cooperation with the Europe Direct Information Office for Baranya County, and the Doctoral Student Association of the University of Pécs is organizing an international event, the 4th Youths in Europe Conference in Pécs.

The aim of the conference is to start a scientific, interdisciplinary conversation among young intellectuals from EU member and candidate countries. While EU member states’ representatives have adequate and precise knowledge on the potentials of the EU, the guests from candidate countries will bring new insights into the discussion. The joint efforts can result in achieving a better, more homogeneous, and more common Union by synthetizing the problems and considering them from different points of view.

Subsections are planned to be created depending on the number of applications.

The professionally prestigious, academic plenary and paper presentations offer a unique opportunity for young Ph.D. students, scholars and researchers to introduce their research projects. The program also includes social activities that bring variety and color to the two days long event.

The conference will be held between November 24-25, 2017, in the Zsolnay Quarter in Pécs.

For the members of the audience who would like to listen to the presentations, the conference can be visited for free and without registration. Presenters need to register for the event and pay the conference fee.

For smooth communication, prospective participants are kindly asked to give their contact details upon registration. Personal data are handled confidentially. Please note that the registration is only finished if the conference fee is payed.

*The organizers can provide accommodations only in a limited number. The distribution of places will happen in registration order.

The registration fee includes an opportunity to hold a presentation, a publication opportunity in the abstract booklet, the conference volume or a journal issue, and the accommodation fee if selected. A proforma or an advance payment invoice can be requested during the online registration process. The standard invoice will be given to each participant at the conference venue.

After the online registration participants are kindly asked to send the abstract (~2,500-4,000 characters) to the following e-mail address: feu@sopianae.com by 20 October 2017. The abstracts should be written in Hungarian, English, or German. The abstract submission is part of the registration procedure without which the registration will not be considered. The abstracts can only be submitted by using the e-mail address above. Every submission will be subjected to a peer-review process. If the abstract fails to fulfill the general academic requirements, the application will not be accepted, and we will transfer the participation fee back.

If you wish to publish your article in the conference volume, please, submit your article until the 31st January 2018 by sending it to the feu@sopianae.com e-mail address. Articles can only be accepted for publishing if a professional review written by an expert with a Ph.D. or DLA of the given discipline is attached to them, together with a signed and filled-in copy of the author’s statement. The accepted and reviewed papers will be published in the printed conference volume or in a journal issue.

The formal requirements of the abstract and the research paper are announced simultaneously to this call and are available on  www.fiatalokeuropaban.hu and www.fiatalokeuropaban.eu just like the other official documents.

Please, note that only papers of presentations held at the conference can be published in the conference volume.
